VIJAY GADH :- A MYSTERIOUS FORT

Vijay gadh is a historic heritage fort of 400 ft. high in sonebhadra district of uttar pradesh, a state of india. Half of the area is surrounded by kaimur's step hills.

According to historians, it was constructed in the fifth century by the col kings. This 400 feet high reclues is 30 kilometers from robertsgujs district in MOUKAL village.
It's main feature is cave painting, inscriptions, sculptures and perennial ponds. At the main gate is the site of a Muslim saint Syed jain ul Aabdin Mir sahib. Who is famous by the name of Hazrat Miran sahib baba. The urs fair is organized every year in the month of April. There are two lakes near this fort which are known as RAM SAGAR and MIR SAGAR  among them are the '''RUNG MAHAL" where beautiful etching is engraved.

The place where waters comes from here very much a matter of surprise,despite the fact that the secluded is in a high attitude. Two main reservoirs,Ram sagar and Mir sagar water never dries, Which is a mystery only. The depth of the RAMSAGAR has not been realized even today. From this lake the KANWARIYA water is filled with water to offer to water to SHIVALINGS.
This fort build in MAUGAON can also be reached on foot from the road leading up to the stairs. There is also some rare relics of Mahatma Buddha . According to historians,it was constructed in the fifth centuary by the COL KINGS. King CHET SINGH of kashi was occupying this fort till this British period. It is mentioned by the chandels that assuming the rule of the king here.

This is the same fort on which the great Novelist DEVIKINANDAN KHATRI wrote the CHANDRAKANTA novel. Princess CHANDRAKANTA was the only princess of vijay vadh . According to the story of novel  veer VIRENDRA SINGH, the prince of NAWGADH (CHANDAULI) had fallen in love with princess CHANDRAKANTA of vijaygadh. And the animosity between the two royal family was famous.
